Lessons from the East: Part-2
I am back highlighting some of the great thoughts in the form of quotes as a continuation to the previous post:
• Stop Complaining and Start Living: The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.
• Increase your Value: You cannot have all that you want if you remain the person you are. To get more from life, you need to be more in life.
• Be Unorthodox: To live a richer, more rewarding life, it is essential that you run your own race. Read every day something no one else is reading. Think everyday something no one else is thinking. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.
• Carry a Goal Card: The great and glorious masterpiece of men is to live to the point. It will foster the self-control you need to concentrate only on activities that advance your goals, give you the discipline to say no to all the rest and in doing so, restore focus to your days.
• Savor the simple stuff: One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.
• See your day as your life: Many people think that it takes months and years to change to life. The truth is that you change your life the second you make a decision from the depths of your heart to be a better, more dedicated human being. What takes the months and years are the efforts you must apply to maintain that decision. And the best life change decision you will ever make is the one to live every moment of your days to the fullest.
• Don’t be so hard on yourself: An excellent way to rise to a higher level of enlightenment and personal wisdom is to make a list of the ten biggest mistakes you have made in your life on the left hand side of the page within your journal. Then, on the right hand side, write down the corresponding lessons you have learned from ever mistakes and the benefits that actually flowed into your life as a result of those so-called failures.
• Rewrite your life story: No one is stopping you from opening your journal and on a bank page rewrite the story of your life. It is never too late to become the person you have always wanted to be.
